Let’s Make It Green!

My husband is part Irish part Cherokee, yea I know crazy mix, he gets the best tan in the summer! but I digress as usual, as you may know St. Patrick’s day is around the corner which means several things are going to happen 1) college and some non-college kids are going to get crazy drunk and 2) the Chicago River will be turned Green!!!

I have lived in Chicago for most of my life and I have NEVER gone to see it, every year I say I am going to go and then the weather ruins the plans because it’s usually wet and cold, or just really really cold. BUT this year I am dragging my wonderful husband rain or shine to see the river turn green. According to GreenChicagoRiver.com  this a modern-day miracle and “… This spectacular transformation ranks right up there with the parting of the sea by Moses and the Pyramids of Egypt.” I don’t know if I’ll go as far as saying that but it is pretty cool!

This year the river goes green on March 16th @ 10am and according to some experts the best spot is between Columbus & Wabash and the weather.com is saying Saturday should look something like this:

I’m hoping 38 turns into 48 and mostly cloudy turns into sunny, I know I am a bit demanding :) but a girl can hope!

The Grammy’s

I along with a couple million others tuned in to watched the grammy. Let’s start by saying that although I like Taylor Swift, I thought her opening act was a little blah, it was missing the WOW-factor, at least for me. Perhaps the wow-factor were her legs? Still she has no Carrie Underwood legs.

To the winners Congratulations!!! I have to admit, I felt as if I been living under a rock because I had no idea who some of the artists were, example:

  • The Black Keys
  • Frank Ocean, his performance was a little weird for me, again this has to do with the fact that I had no idea who he was, I had to google him to get caught up
  • Miguel Pimentel
  • Avicii

The list goes on.

Call me a horrible person BUT I am so glad, Carly Rae Jepsen didn’t win anything her song is my least favorite song of all times, I have heard it more times than I care to recall and I am thankful that the Grammys gods didn’t let her win.

Favorite Performances:

  • Mr. Suit & Tie, Justin Timberlake, took me back in time and I was L-O-V-I-N-G IT! My love for Justin goes back to his N’SYNC days
  • FUN, they made it rain!
  • Mumford & Sons
  • Adam Levine & Alicia Keys (they set that stage ON FIRE!)
  • Rihanna, reminded us all that she’s just not all legs, the girl can sing!
  • Kelly Clarkson, her performance was absolutely beautiful :)

I love them individually I just don’t love them together, I feel like she’s an amazing girl and he is just going to break her heart :(

JT thank you for making me fall in love with you all over again <3

I hope you all enjoyed the grammys!

Super Bowl

Happy Super Bowl Day!!!!

This is possibly one of the most important date for a lot of us. We love all sports in my house but when it comes down to it, football is king! We are pretty excited for this game, for Ray Lewis last chance for a Super Bowl ring before he retires, for Beyonce’s performance at the half-time show or like some would say:

and of course the commercials. I absolutely love the intensity of the game but I also love all the commercials, some are dumb while others are so beautifully executed.

GAME TIME!!!
